August 14, 2003. One week from launch. Our offices at 74 Wingold Avenue in Toronto, Ontario went dark as a result of the largest North American blackout in history. With our projected launch only days away we had two options: push back our timeline or "power" (pun intended) through. Over the next four days, in sweltering midsummer heat, our ad network, MediaNet, was born on the back of a single generator and a whole lot of determination. To this day, our systems have never gone down and we have never lost our willpower to succeed.
